Soulcial Sunday: New Year – New Us!
Hello again, everyone! It’s Drey! ⸜(｡˃ ᵕ ˂ )⸝
It’s been a while since our last Soulcial Sunday Post. 2023 was a challenging year for us, making it tough to maintain our blog and focus on other platforms. This year, we plan to showcase more of our personalities across all platforms. When we stream on our Twitch Channel, we enjoy the real-time interaction, getting to know everyone while playing video games.
Our goals are to convey more of ourselves in our content, build a community, and shape what SDE represents. We aim for people to easily recognize Drey & Lizzo as SDE without extensive searching for a face. If we decide to rebrand or tweak visuals, it’s part of our new direction.
SDE was always meant to be more than a blog; we want to create a community that motivates and supports each other in all aspects of life. We now have more knowledge on marketing ourselves and our content, aiming to make the 10th year of SDE the biggest yet. November, our anniversary month, might do something special for our baby ❤.
This year, we have extensive content plans and will implement them gradually. We’re looking to revive our YouTube channel and bring back the Rhythm & Blerd Podcast. We’re starting now and hope to return at the end of 2024 proud of our achievements.
Balancing our 9-to-5 jobs and building our creator careers adds pressure, but we have high hopes for exceeding last year’s accomplishments. The word for this year is CONSISTENCY!
Our Anime Streetwear Line LFDE By SDE did well at the start of 2023, but we dropped the ball. This year, we aim to stay consistent, launch more pieces, and use our word of the year as motivation. We’ll be more vocal about our goals on social media to garner more belief in our brands. Additionally, we’re focusing on storytelling skills and building on TikTok, which turns out to be more work than anticipated.
The hard truth is that I didn’t invest enough energy into content creation and platform building. While I initially maintained consistency, it dropped off again. A shout-out to Lizzo for keeping things active over the years—SDE wouldn’t be where it is without her.
Breaking down accountability barriers is challenging. Despite claiming various hindrances, they now seem like excuses. As a perfectionist, I’ve been hard on myself regarding content creation. Being there for Lizzo and lightening the workload as a partner is something I need to improve.
