Anime NYC was lit. I had a fantastic time.  I was able to link up with Stephanie of Anime Girls NYC.  Shout out to her. Thank you for being such a cool person.   Saw some really nice cosplay. I attended some really cool panels, and best of all, I was able to enjoy this all with my team.

One of the highlights of my weekend was attending the Nerds on Hip Hop: Bridging Anime & Hip-Hop Panel.

This panel was hosted by Victoria Johnson and Marcus Wolfe of Nerds on Hip Hop.  Guests included Detroit rapper Noveliss, Valerie Complex (Pop Culture Writer), and Stephane Metayer (Creator of Tephlon Funk!).

Hands down, this was the best panel I’ve ever sat in. Not only was the guest commentary entertaining, but as a fan of both narratives, I could relate to a lot of what I said on a personal and professional level.

At least for me, Hip Hop and Anime have always co-ed sided. Been into both my entire life and while many people didn’t understand. And at many times was ridiculed for it. It was just part of who I was.  It was nice finding people who can relate.

Fortunately for those interested, Below there is a YouTube recording of the panel. Also, An all-audio version, via SoundCloud. So check it out and let me know what you think?
