It’s Black History Month, There are some pretty interesting things popping off in the nerd community. One of my favorite highlights is, the 28 Days of Black Cosplay, which is celebration created by Chaka Cumberbatch-Tinsley five years ago. And since then, the number of participants have grown tremendously.
The 28 Days of Black Cosplay was created to support, nurture and create visibility for the Black Cosplay community which is often overlooked and discriminated against. Here at SDE, we’re all about the under dog, not only do we preach things, we try to some fire behind our words through action. This is a an event that I hold near and dear to my heart, we’ve joined the ranks as participates.
On our Instagram page, we’ll be featuring one cosplayer a day. And over on Twitter, we’ll be tweeting and interacting through the month. So be sure to follow us! Follow the #28DaysofBlackCosplay hashtag and show some love to some awesome creatives.
