AnimeNEXT 2019: Guest Richard Epcar
The Legendary Richard Epcar will be a guest at this year AnimeNEXT and we’re excited to meet the man that has voiced well over 500 characters between video games, animation, and anime. He as probably voiced some of your favorite characters and you don’t know it yet.
Richard is well known for voicing the characters Batou in Ghost in the Shell, The Joker in several Batman games including Injustice: Gods Among Us, Raiden in Mortal Kombat, Ansem in Kingdom Hearts, Joseph Joestar in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Jigen in Lupin The Third and Akuma in Street Fighter V!. I’m excited to see if Richard will have a panel that he will talk about his amazing accomplishments in his career as a voice actor. I’m not entirely sure if anyone else has voiced as many characters as Richard has since his start. Richard is not only a voice actor he’s also a voice director and writer and he plans to direct and voice the new Lupin The Third series.
Here are a few video games he has voice directed Arkham Origins, Dead Island: Riptide, Blue Dragon, Shadow Hearts II, Star Ocean 2, 3, Enemy Territory Quake Wars, Unreal Tournament 3, Jackass The Game, Smackdown VS. Raw, and Dead Head Fred. The list doesn’t stop there here’s another of all the shows he has voice directed Ghost in the Shell 2, Robotech: Shadow Chronicles, Almost Heroes, Jungle Shuffle, The Reef, Monchichi, Grand Master, Noein, Digimon, Lupin the Third, Fighting Spirit, Patlabor 3, Zentrix, Azumi I & II, Fearless, Betty Blue, Iron Monkey, VR Troopers, Power Rangers, Ugly Betty Webisodes and Old Boy to name a few.
As one of the hardest working man in the business, I really hope that Richard is put in a panel that we would be able to sit in to hear his wisdom and advice for many people trying to break into the voice acting business. So many con-goers come for panels and meeting their idols to gather as much information to pursue their passion and have fun at a con with friends.
